Model Railroad Museum
Fig: Model Railroad Museum at AuGlaize Village, Defiance, Ohio

This is the newest building in the Village. It was built entirely with donations and opened in the fall of 1985. It houses the extensive collection of model railroads. Called the Lincoln Bay and Gateway Railroad, this was a life-long project of the late Mr. Les Green of Fort Wayne, Indiana. At the time of his death, the collection contained 270 HO scale engines and locomotives plus many rare and limited edition trains, including all the Bicentennial special edition trains.

Model Railroad Museum Brass Engines:

The Model Railroad Museum has 8 Brass Engines on display. These rare antiques are intricately detailed works of mechanical art that are the highlight of the 270 engine collection.

The Museum's environmental control system keeps the climate at an optimum level for preservation of all items of the collection. An original grand total of $65,000 was spent to build the "Lincoln Bay & Gateway Railroad". An extensive troop train collection and a hand made 30 car circus train built by Les Green are among the many other attractions.
