Defiance Water Recreation is a local pool and spa business servicing NW Ohio's pool and spa needs since 1981.   We sell hot tubs, saunas, above ground swimming pools and inground vinyl liner swimming pools.  We have two retail stores in Defiance and Wauseon, Ohio where we test pool and spa water, offer chemicals, parts and accessories as well as pool toys and floats all year long.   Our service department handles opening and closing pools, repairs and warranty work for our products, as well as working on other brands not sold by our company.   We have pool and spa maintenance available for residential and commercial pools and spas as well.  Defiance Water Recreation is family owned and operated since it was begun in 1981 by Bob and Pam Dawson.   Defiance Water Recreation is in the second generation with Bob and Pam Dawson's son Shelby and daughter Stephani buying the business while Bob and Pam have entered semi-retirement, working part time in the summer months to help in the busy season.   Stephani's husband Kirk is the retail operations manager for both stores.  A third generation is in place with Kirk and Stephani's daughter Olivia working summers as well.
 
The focus of Defiance Water Recreation is excellent customer service, education and keeping the family owned & operated atmosphere that has so well served NW Ohio all these years.   Many people come to our store after buying a hot tub or pool elsewhere and mention that they wish they'd shopped at our store before going to the "big city".  Defiance Water Recreation works hard to stay competitive with pricing and product selection, but mostly on our service.   It is our desire to continue developing relationships with our customers and doing our best to meet all of their pool and spa needs.

Defiance Water Recreation is open at the Defiance location all year long.  From Labor Day to around Easter time, we are open Monday-Friday 9a.m.-5:30 p.m and Saturdays 9 a.m.-3 p.m.    From mid April to Labor Day, Defiance is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9-3 p.m.    The Wauseon store is open around mid-April through the summer months Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-3.   The Wauseon store is open for limited hours in the winter months.  Both stores are closed Sundays year round so that our employees and customers may observe a day for worship and to be with their families.
