The Defiance City Waterworks meets all current EPA standards and has a capacity of 10.5 million gallons of water per day. Present system usage averages 5 million gallons a day, with peak of 6 million gallons a day. Three elevated storage tanks provide 1.6 million gallons of storage at a minimum height of 130 feet.

Current wastewater treatment averages 3.2 million gallons per day. Over $12 million has been invested since 1986 and the plant currently meets all EPA standards.

Electric service is provided to the area by the Toledo Edison Company and Ohio Power. Service to the area is by 138 KV transmission lines and distribution in the area is by 12 KV lines.

Natural gas is provided to the Defiance area by The Ohio Gas Company, with supply to the area furnished by ANR and Panhandle Eastern Pipeline.

Telephone service is provided by Sprint United Telephone.
